When the Porsche GT3 was launched as a new model in the late ‘90s, it was an overwhelming success. All GT3s have since become some of the most sought after modern collectibles Porsche ever offered. The famous Mezger engines were the foundation of all the 996 and 997 GT3s. This motor is known for being one of the best engines Porsche ever built. Only 657 997.2 GT3s were built for the U.S. and only 40 wore GT Silver (6%). GT Silver Metallic is one of the most expensive paints ordered other than paint to sample (PTS).
The 2nd Generation GT3s have seen a bump in value as buyers for the 911’s have migrated back to the 997.2 (commonly referred to as Gen 2) models. With their displacement growing from 3.6 to 3.8 liters, these race-ready streetcars now have naturally aspirated 435hp and 317 lb. ft. torque.
This GT3 was built on October 7th, 2009, and delivered new on November 13th, 2009 by Porsche of Farmington Hills, Michigan. It was highly optioned with the following:
GT silver metallic paint
Black full leather
Interior package carbon
Carbon package switch panel
Adaptive sport seats
Self-dimming mirrors and rain sensor
PCM 3.0 w/extended navigation
Dynamic engine mounts
Ceramic composite brakes (PCCB)
Front axle lift system
Sound package plus
Dynamic cornering lights
Bluetooth phone interface
Sport chrono package plus
XM radio
6-disc CD/DVD changer
3 spoke sport steering wheel in leather
Universal audio interface
Headlight cleaner cover in exterior color
Floor mats with leather surround
Storage lid in Alcantara with Porsche logo
Porsche crest in headrests
Seat belts in silver
Aluminum footrest
Carbon door sill w/model insignia
Obviously, no expense was spared when custom ordering this car. The MSRP was 1,345, which is over 9k in today’s dollars.
*The current owner purchased and installed a pair of factory carbon fiber sport seat buckets in black leather and Alcantara. They also include a pair of leather bolster protectors. These are available for an additional fee. Otherwise, we will install the stock adaptive sport seats before delivery to the next owner.
The first owner was from Oakland, Michigan and he kept the car for 3 years and 2k miles. During his ownership, he brought the car into Fred Lavery Porsche of Birmingham, Michigan 5 times for routine service. He sold the car on March 7th, 2012 with 2,199 miles to the next owner from West Bloomfield, Michigan. This owner only kept the car for a little over a year and added 3k miles. He drove it to his other home in West Palm Beach, Florida where it stayed most of the time. He ended up trading it back into Fred Lavery Porsche in May of 2013. They performed a service and resold it on July 19th, 2013 with 5,861 to the next owner from Royal Oak, Michigan. This owner kept the car for just over 2 years and added another 5k miles. They continued servicing the car at their local Porsche dealer. It was then sold on October 15th, 2015 with 11,050 miles to Louis Plevritis from Elmhurst, Illinois. Louis kept the car for 5 years and added another 6k miles. He too serviced it regularly at the Porsche dealer and performed the intermediate maintenance/20k mile service on April 27th, 2017 at 13,526 miles. This included the following:
Oil service
Cabin filter
Air filter
Check all fluids/top off
Multi-point inspection
The current owner lives in Santa Barbara, California. He purchased it on December 21st, 2020 with 17,379 miles. For last couple years, he’s only added about 600 miles. Between his family growing with a new child and a mountain biking injury, he just isn’t enjoying this GT3 as he planned. Regardless of the light use, he still serviced it regularly at Schneider Autohaus in Santa Barbara. Services recently performed include:
Replaced catalytic converter with new factory part
Install carbon fiber bucket seats and calibrate weight detection system*
Replace both pressure switches for front axle lift system
Last oil service and inspection (11/21 @ 17567 miles)
The current owner also installed a center muffler delete pipe. The original center muffler is included.
The entire front nose is covered in PPF (paint protection film) including the front fenders, bumper, hood, and headlights. Also, the entire lower rocker area and leading part of the rear fenders are protected. A high-end radar detector system has been integrated with sensors in the lower front bumper grill, indicator light and on/off switch inside the car.
The exterior of this GT3 is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use. There are no significant chips, scratches, or dents. Over a third of the car is covered with PPF, which is starting to discolor slightly. The paint is in great shape and regularly detailed. There are no signs of any prior damage or repairs. The glass has no major chips or scratches. The windshield has recently been replaced due to a larger chip. The factory center-lock wheels have no curb rash and are wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires that were installed sometime in 2017 and 3,500 miles ago. The front tires have over 75% life remaining and the rear tires have just under 75% life remaining. The ceramic brakes look like new with near full pad thickness.
The interior is equally as nice with no major signs of wear. The sport buckets still look new as do the original adaptive sport seats. There are no major cracks or tears. The headliner, carpet, and door panels all look fresh. The dash has no cracks, and all the gauges work properly as do the interior lights. The carbon fiber piece on the cup holder cover has a small superficial crack. The A/C blows cold and the factory radio works. All the electrical functions work properly.
The DME (vehicle computer) was checked and there were no significant overrevs. The last one happening over 7-years and 3,000-miles ago:
Level 1: 0.54 seconds total
Level 2: 0.007 seconds total
Level 3: 0
Level 4: 0
Level 5: 0
Level 6: 0
It is clear this example was never driven hard and only averaged 32mph over its entire life.
This GT3 comes with 2 main keys, owner’s manuals in vinyl cover, maintenance booklet with stamps, center-lock tool, underside hood protector, original leather adaptive sport seats, indoor car cover, Porsche flat repair system, center-lock socket, air compressor, and tool kit.
*Price includes original adaptive sport seats installed. The leather/carbon sport bucket seats are available for an additional fee.

Our rates are very competitive and we are experts at not only creating compelling advertisements, but finding all the unique places to market your vehicle. Our fees include all photographs, marketing, listing fees, storage, and detailing.
